The first chiropractic appointment consists of a consultation with me. We review your chief complaint and personal health history. If indicated, x-rays can be taken on-site. A full examination is conducted. Depending on your issue, if x-rays were taken, you may or may not be treated on the first visit.
Your first treatment will consist of an adjustment, and if necessary, other manual therapy. I primarily use the following assessment and adjusting techniques:
- Low-Force Manual
- modified CBP
- modified flexion-distraction
Other manual therapies include:
- Myofacial release
- Trigger point therapy
- Active release
- Post-facilitation stretching/post-isometric relaxation
- Instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy
In the office we also have access to the following adjunct treatments:
- Cold laser
- Spinal traction devices
Treatment length will depend upon the condition being treated and response to care. Oftentimes at-home care instructions are given to help support care and expedite healing. Appropriate referrals can be made if additional modalities are necessary.
